Abstract
This document provides requirements and guidance on the planning, construction and operation of playgrounds and outdoor play areas.
It also applies to areas that, in addition to other uses, are used as outdoor play areas on a part-time or temporary basis. These include areas in residential areas, day care facilities, sports facilities, outdoor swimming pools, parks and on school campuses, for example.
This standard can also be used for assessments of child-friendliness.
